Commissioner's Message

ANDREW SCIPIONE, APM
COMMISSIONER OF POLICE

It is with great enthusiasm that I commence my duties as Commissioner. I am both proud and honoured to have the opportunity to lead all members of the NSW Police Force, sworn and unsworn.

Now that we have faced the challenges of APEC, I will continue to build on the outstanding work of my predecessor Ken Moroney AO APM and commence implementing strategies to make the NSW Police Force even greater. I want to create opportunities for the NSW Police Force to work together with the community and our inter-agency partners to further reduce crime and the perception of crime in this State.

To do this, I will ensure that police are provided with the support, encouragement and leadership required to enable them to discharge their duties to the best of their ability. I will focus on maximising our resources to support police and our community and most importantly, I want to ensure that all staff have reasons to be proud of being a member of this organisation.

I am proud to be a police officer and proud to be Commissioner. Together we can build on our history and ensure that we go forward confident in the knowledge that we are the best Police Force in the country.
